How to write AI prompts that get more accurate and useful results.

What a prompt is

When generating text and images, artificial intelligence (AI) needs guidance in human language to produce content that is accurate, interesting and has depth. A prompt gives the AI the key context it needs to understand what the user intends and wants.

Elements of a prompt

A good prompt usually contains a clear role (who the AI should act as), a specific task (what to do), enough background (context), the expected output format (structure requirements) and the tone or style (formal, casual, professional and so on).

Using AI in HelpChat

In the HelpChat client, type a prompt into the AI input box and the AI generates a result based on your instructions. You can specify a work or emotional tone to get replies that fit your needs more closely.

Tip

Start with a simple request and refine it step by step. For example, instead of "Write an introduction", say "In a professional tone, write a 200-word product introduction of the HelpChat enterprise messaging platform for manufacturing customers".
