Your HelpChat server
HelpChat Server runs on your machines. Messages, files and user data on your server never reach helpchat.com.
Account
Signing in needs only an email address. We store the address, the time of your last sign-in and, if you give them, your name and company.
Orders and licenses
For each order we store the edition, the amount, the serial number and the payment reference from Stripe. When you upload key.dat we store its contents (serial number, company name, machine fingerprint, system and hardware lines) and the license.dat issued for it, so that you can download it again.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never pass through helpchat.com.
Sign-in codes and order confirmations are sent through Resend.
Visit statistics
We count page views, daily visitors, country and device type. The visitor count uses a one-way hash that changes every day; IP addresses are not stored. Clicks on download buttons are counted per file.
Cookies
hc_sid keeps you signed in. It is set only after you sign in and lasts 180 days from your last visit. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Crash reports
The Android app can send a crash report to helpchat.com. We count the reports and discard their contents.
Messages
For messages sent from the contact page, we keep the text, the email address you enter, and the page it came from, page language, country and device type, to reply and fix the problem. IP addresses are not stored; the daily limit uses a one-way hash that changes every day.
